Jefferson Yap

Saxophonist

 

Jefferson started playing the saxophone at the age of 13 in the Secondary School Band. He then joined the Singapore Armed Forces Band after completing his Diploma.

Thereafter, he pursued his interest in music and attained Trinity College London Licentiate Diploma in Recital in Saxophone in the first year of service. Jefferson is now a Saxophone Instructor giving Master Classes at various schools like Anglo-Chinese Independent, Singapore Raffles Music College, School of the Arts Singapore and many more.

Throughout the years, Jefferson has accumulated vast performing experiences since his first solo performance "Against all Odds" with Singapore Armed Forces Big Band in year 2008. He then formed a band called "Jefferson Pop Orchestra" where they performed at the Esplanade Waterfront in year 2009 & 2010.

 

In 2012, Jefferson was invited to be a Guest performer by Nanyang Polytechnic where he played a saxophone concerto "Duex Movements" with Nanyang Polytechnic Symphony Orchestra in 2012
